TIME-ENERGY NEXUS in systems 1)
← Back
H.T. ODUM makes the following statement:
"The replacement energy cost increases as more organization and information is specified in the assemblage of increasing value" (1971, p.56).
This has been made clear by PRIGOGINE in another way, when he showed that a higher level or organization in systems implies a higher level of entropy production (even if the system tends to settle down at the lowest possible minimum production).
Moreover, once stabilized the systems tend to evidence a slow increase in self-reproduction errors. This has been observed, but seemingly not yet explained.
These different aspects show the intimate relation between energy flows and time.
