SELF-LIMITATING PHENOMENA 1)2)
← Back
This class of phenomena has been researched in 1960 by S. FOX in the realm of biochemistry and in relation to the origin of life. (1960, p.59).
Self-limitation is clearly a sine qua non condition in complex systems if they are to reach dynamic stability.
It seems to be a necessary consequence, or possibly even a cause of autopoiesis and organizational (or operational) closure. It is also quite probably related to catalysis in hypercycles. The subject should deserve a deeper investigation.
