REPRESENTATIONAL SYSTEM 2)3)
← Back
The extensive and interconnected set of images, models and concepts used by an individual as a categorizational tool and general reference frame for observational and behavioral purposes.
Such a system can be considered as a representation system in activity, as it is always used to observe and describe events and situations to oneself and guide behavior and action. The effective use of a representational system implies thus intentionality.
It should be clearly distinguished from any systems representation, which is a specific model of a part of the observed world, constructed in accordance to systemics, which is in itself a quite general representational system.
