REACTION-DIFFUSION SYSTEM 2)
← Back
A system dominated by opposed sets of forces, of which one tends to amplify differences and the other one to dampen them (After M. BUCHANAN, Inside Science Nr.121, p.3)
This type of reactions appear in systems in process of dissipative structuration, as for example the Belousov-Zhabotinskii reaction. They lead to the appearance of typical patterns of growth, as hexagonal structures, TURING structures, or fractals.
