POST-CYBERNETICS GROUP in Tokyo 1)
← Back
This group has been created in 1992 in Tokyo by Makiko OKUYAMA, of the Ohmiya Child Health Center (2-24-1, Toro-Cho, Ohmiha-Shi, Japan 336)
It is an interdisciplinary group whose members come from "management science, information science, physiology, public health and psychiatry".
M. Okuyama states: "the name" post-cybernetics was used because the word "cybernetics" strongly reminds people of mechanical and engineering feedback systems and, besides we wanted to pursue the new meta-disciplinary concept, and not just to be limited to the conservative cybernetics".
More members have joined the group. "Their specialities are artificial intelligence, engineering, cognitive science, sociology, accounting, marketing, and so on."
The group has a monthly conversation "which includes a lecture and discussion."
The above information has been published in Cybernetics and Human Knowing, 2(3), 1994
The present situation of this Group is unknown to this editor.
