PERCOLATING CLUSTER 2)
← Back
An expanding cluster of elements that crossed the critical threshold from which the process is able to propagate itself without restrictions in a sufficiently homogeneous medium.
In such a case, the percolating cluster expands itself rapidly, occupying the major part of the available space.
This is however generally a self-destructive process, or at least a self-limitating one. If the cluster is made of sick individuals, they die or cure themselves. If it is made of trees, their becoming burned trees slows down or finally stops the fire.
