ORGANISMIC 3)
← Back
Character of any model based on an analogy with living organisms.
"Organismic is used to describe a relationship between individuals such as their autonomy and identity are in part absorbed or entrained by the interactions which form a greater whole of which they are "components" insofar as the communicative sets are concerned" (F. ROBB, 1990, p.139).
ROBB applies the concept to human organization, but its origin is – as well known – biological. Thus, more generally we may replace "individuals" by "constitutive elements".
