An hypothetical mechanism of a nonenergetic transfer of information at a distance from one entity to another.
This is another hypothesis proposed by SHELDRAKE to sustain his "morphic fields" concept.
J. CASTI synthetizes it as follows: "Morphic resonance… takes place on the basis of similarity, and involves a nonenergetic transfer of information. Thus, it is a kind of action at a distance in time and space." (1990, p.175).
As observed by CASTI, such views are anathema to most mainstream biologists, who question the "nonenergetic" transfer as well as the mysterious character of this kind of action at a distance. Similar problems arise with BOHM's implicite order.
If SHELDRAKE's views should be admitted, they would quite probably imply a fundamental rehearsal of our representations of time and space.
