MINUS-ONE METHOD 2)
← Back
A way to study the role of some part in a whole by removing that part and observe the result in the system as a whole.
This is a very general method that can be applied to any kind of system, whether biological, ecological, social or mechanical.
The minus-one effects are either specific and, or local; or on the contrary destructive.
Let us remember that battle that was lost for want of a horse-shoe.
In some cases, a very minor minus-one effect can act as a trigger and may have enormous consequences, particularly in ecosystems.
