T.A. and W. MILLINGTON give the following example: "A plane is a two-dimensional manifold of points, because it is the class of all its points, and each is specified by two coordinates, (x,y)" (Ibid.).
This implies that any element of the manifold is permanently recognizable and distinguishable from any other.
