A connection between two elements.
Links are probably the most basic features of all kinds of systems from physics to sociology.
Graph theory describes numerous types of links and their more interesting interconnections, in linkages and gives a good understanding of networks
Links are structural, but correspond also to dynamical features in networks and/or systems. In graphs, this is made clear by giving them an orientation represented by an arrowhead. Structural and dynamical aspects are of course complementary.
