INTERNATIONAL SYSTEMS INSTITUTE 1)
← Back
This Institute was created in 1980 in San Francisco by B. BANATHY and other Californian systemists. Its seat is now in Carmel, CA. "It is organized as a community of scholars and practitioners and a network of institutions. It aims to apply systems and design thinking to:
1. create models and methods for the design of eductional and other human activity systems and
2. to design and develop resources for systems and design learning" (as quoted from ISI folder).
ISI organizes international "conversations" that "provide opportunities for professional development in systems and design applications" (Ibid).
Its program "is carried out by Institute Fellows who pursue the work of ISI in their own organizations as well as in several ISI programs areas and research teams". (Ibid) ISI Fellows are from 20 different countries.
ISI has recently created a "Transnational Council" aiming at diminishing transcultural misunderstandings and conflicts. It is an active member of IFSR.
