A device developing "… a backforce against any input driving force so long as that force is increased" (H. ODUM, 1971, p.39).
This could be called a device for stubborn resistance and protection. ODUM, who describes it, writes: "At the same time some energy storage is arranged so that when the forcing impetus ceases, the energy unit delivers a forward flow. Many organisms, human behavior programs, and conservative institutional programs have stubborness of this form " (Ibid).
