FAILURE TREE 2)
← Back
An analytical graph which seeks in a deductive way to determine the basic elementary cause of a failure in some device.
The tree is constructed by sequential elimination of the sections of the process which are not responsible for the failure.
Of course, the correct initial selection of the failure in precise terms is a requisite condition for the construction of a useful tree.
The enquiry use the logical door "or" at every discriminating distinction in the process of construction of the tree.
The analysis should be ended when the cause of the failure is identified at the operative level at which an intervention is practical and sufficient.
