A measure of diversity in some defined space
C. WILLS writes: "If a minority of species in a quadrat are common and the rest are rare, it is considered to have low evenness. But if, in another quadrat with the same number of species, all the species are equally common, then the quadrat's evenness is high" (1996, p.42)
