S. BEER introduced in 1966 a different concept of dispersion: the progressive branching of some process in the time dimension, with the corresponding variable interactions in-between different effects of the initial cause or causes.
He described graphically his model through a tree arranged along the time dimension, which he calls "dispersing stochastic network" (1968, p.180).
In the light of the deterministic chaos model, "stochastic" takes on a deeper meaning since it could now be added that any network flowing through time is bound to be dispersive, but within the limits of coherence proper to the network, according to its interaction rules. This makes BEER's model still more insightful.
