DATA REDUCTION 2)
← Back
"A process of data summary achieved by any of a large number of methods of multivariate analysis" (T.F.H. ALLEN & T.B. STARR, 1982, p.265).
ALLEN & STARR remark: "After reduction, a large and complex data set may be represented approximately through expressing interrelationships between observations either by placement on a small number of axes or by grouping them together in a series of discrete classes" (Ibid).
Of course, the selection of the reduction model is subservient to the objectives of the modelizer.
