CYCLES (Pseudo-) 2)
← Back
K. BOULDING observed that the mechanical use of spectral analysis is: "… an elegant way of detecting probably nonexistent cycles and throws no light on the real structures and processes which underlie fluctuations" (1972, p.86).
In other words, the results of spectral analysis of curves must be validated. The subject is quite difficult in the study of the behavior of nonlinear systems, when various periodic functions of different periods and amplitudes do reciprocally interfere.
