CURVE (Involving) 2)
← Back
A curve representing a long- or very long-term process, which includes more or less self similar curves at medium and/or short term.
This notion was introduced by F. ZWICKY (1971) for use in forecasting.
It was however already implicit in K. WEIERSTRASS's renormalization function. It has also be used by F. MEYER (1954) to emphasize the evolutive acceleration process.
The subject could be related to ergodicity, deterministic chaos and, possibly to a fractal concept of time.
