CONTEXT SENSITIVITY 3)
← Back
T. BAUMGARTNER et al. state: "Systems differ in the degree and quality of their structural sensitivity: from the deductive systems of pure mathematics where there is a systematic effort to remove all context dependence in order to emphasize the underlying abstract relationships, to the high degree of context sensitivity and structural dynamics of living systems" (1976, p.34).
Low context sensibility in models is acquired only by suppressing the context as far as possible. However such simplifications do not lead to satisfactory results in complex systems modelling.
The problem of context sensibility, viewed from the modelling angle is now under precise focus through chaos theory.
