"The relation in which addition and/or multiplication is symmetrical. Non commutation is the relation in which addition and/or multiplication is asymetrical" (J. FEIBLEMAN & J.W. FRIEND, 1969, p.33).
In the case when added or multiplied elements are not all of the same type and their appearance is serial, the relation between them is necessarily non-commutative. On the contrary, in the case of grains of sand accumulating on a dune, or locusts in flight, the order of incorporation of the elements is irrelevant.
