CHAOS (Onset of) 2)
← Back
P. BERGÉ and M. DUBOIS describe three different ways leading form a periodic behavior to a chaotic one:
- By period doubling, where the basic period is multiplied by 2 at each bifurcation, until an infinite period is approched;
- The intermittences scenario, in which the periodic states become slowly disorganized until suddenly exploding into turbulence;
- The quasi-periodicity scenario wherein the nonlinear interactions of 2 or 3 oscillators lead to chaotic behavior. (1992, p. 128).
